What’s for Breakfast?
Do you have a favorite breakfast that gives you staying power until lunch?
They say that you learn something new everyday and it’s so true! Years ago my ‘go to breakfast’ used to be a fruit flavored cereal bar and a cup of coffee. It took me a while to realize that having a breakfast that had alot of sugar didn’t keep me satisfied and often made me hungrier. I knew it was time to change things up so I started to experiment to see what foods gave me satisfaction and a great start to my day.
I have 3 different breakfasts that I love:
- 1 piece of Chia Bread (or healthy bread made with seeds/whole wheat) toasted with almond butter
- 1 piece of healthy toast with avocado and a side of cucumber slices and tomatoes
- A bowl of steel cut oats that was cooked in unsweetened vanilla almond or cashew milk
My son Jarred has the same breakfast everyday. His breakfast of choice that keeps him full until lunch is Skippy peanut butter, strawberry jam and banana slices in between 2 slices of white bread.
