When I ordered 6 bananas from the grocery store, I didn’t realize that they would ship me 6 bunches of bananas, each bunch consisting of 6 bananas! Although my family loved the Chocolate Chip Banana Loafs and Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins I baked, it was time to try something a little different.
I love ice cream and frozen yogurt and decided to try to make a healthier version, without any added sugar, and using bananas.
If you’ve never tried it before, I have to say it’s delicious and very easy!!!
Place the frozen bananas and unsweetened cocoa powder into a blender or food processor. Start off with adding 1/4 cup of the unsweetened vanilla almond milk and blend into smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add more milk if very thick and hard to process.
Transfer to an airtight plastic container and freeze until firm.
If you like, you can add some other goodies to the banana ice cream. Before freezing try stirring in with a spoon a tablespoon of any nut butter, some mini chocolate chips or a crushed cookie.
