The ‘Other’ Milk
Do you use almond milk? Many people use soy milk or a nut milk because of an intolerance or dairy allergy and some, just because they like it. That would be me!
Years ago when I was testing out new products, I read about the nutritious benefits of almond milk and was curious, so I bought a carton of it. At first I only replaced milk that I added to my dry cereal with unsweetened almond milk, but then I started trying to figure out other ways that I could use it.
My favorite way to use it is when I make steel cut oats! I batch cook 4 portions and the ratio is 1 cup of dry steel cut oats to 4 1/2 cups of water. I replace the water with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and just recently I used Silk’s new product Creamy Cashew Unsweetened Vanilla! I can’t begin to tell you how creamy, delicious and filling my breakfast is since I switched!
