Release Your Misconceptions

I love yoga, hot yoga in particular. Some of you may know that I practice 6-7 times a week, but when I’m on vacation it’s a little more challenging to keep this up.

Family time is important to me and I don’t want to disrupt everyone’s day and have them wait for me. My goal was to find a studio that was #1 close to where we were and #2 had early morning classes. Lucky for me I found two wonderful studios that offered a regular yoga practice and a hot yoga practice!!

In my last post I talked about NOT making any resolutions because it only leads to setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. I suggested to just decide be good to yourself. No expectations, no “cant’s, don’ts or should not’s”, no unnecessary pressure on yourself to be perfect.

It’s time to Release Your Misconceptions. Stop telling yourself stories of why you can’t do something, why you shouldn’t, why it’s not ‘for you’, why you’re not good enough – it’s enough with the stories. Be mindful, smile more, be pleased with yourself, compliment yourself and be open to try new things. Get rid of all the negativity and self-sabotages.

And that is just what I did! Although I am not shy by nature (it’s true, I am known to walk up to total strangers and start conversations!), I really do find it a little intimidating to walk into new situations by myself. Has that ever stopped you from doing something?

Well, I didn’t let it stop me! I participated in the Something Big! New Year’s Day event at Mizner Park (Boca Raton, Florida) hosted by Leslie Glickman, the owner of Yoga Journey. This spectacular event had 1500 people come together on their mats and connect mind, body and soul as we shared a yoga flow guided by Leslie. It was magical.

Now’s the time for YOU to make your magic happen. This year Release Your Misconceptions, get out of your shell and try something new.

As always, I would love to hear from you!
